Privacy Policy

Plumb is a personal budgeting, bill organization and financial planning app. This policy explains what information Plumb processes, how it is used, and the choices available to you.

Information Plumb processes

Plumb may process account information such as your email address; financial information you choose to enter, including balances, income, expenses, recurring bills, debts and goals; app preferences and security settings; notification preferences and device notification tokens when notifications are enabled; and limited technical information needed to operate and secure the service.

Financial information

Plumb is designed around information you enter manually. Plumb does not connect to your bank or brokerage account in this release, does not request bank credentials, does not move money, and does not execute investment transactions.

Optional Plumb Insights AI

Plumb Insights is optional. If you explicitly choose to continue with Plumb Insights, Plumb sends limited financial summaries and selected labels derived from information already in Plumb to OpenAI so that OpenAI can generate plain-language educational explanations. These summaries can include spending totals and categories, cash-flow figures, recurring income and bill summaries, debt information, target progress and Financial Health results. Plumb does not send bank login credentials, account numbers, merchant names, bill notes or income-source names to the AI. Plumb records the date and disclosure version associated with your consent so that the app can remember your choice. You can revoke this permission from the Plumb Insights screen, which stops future AI requests until you opt in again.

AI results and caching

Plumb calculates and selects the financial facts used by Plumb Insights before an AI request is made. AI-generated explanations may still be incomplete or inaccurate. Plumb may cache generated insight results on its server to reduce repeated AI requests when the underlying data has not changed. The AI cache is designed to store the generated result and a data fingerprint rather than a raw copy of the full financial snapshot.

How information is used

Plumb uses information to organize your budget and bills; calculate cash flow and planning estimates; track balances, debts and goals; save your preferences; protect your account; deliver notifications you enable; operate, maintain and troubleshoot the service; and, only when you opt in, generate Plumb Insights educational explanations.

Service providers

Plumb uses service providers for functions such as authentication, database infrastructure, hosting, optional notifications and, when you opt in to Plumb Insights, AI processing through OpenAI. Those providers may process information only as reasonably necessary to provide those services. Plumb does not sell personal or financial information.

Storage and security

Plumb uses access controls and other safeguards designed to protect personal and financial information. Sensitive server credentials are not intentionally embedded in the mobile application. No electronic storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Retention and deletion

Plumb retains information as reasonably necessary to provide and secure the service and to meet applicable legal obligations. You can initiate permanent deletion of your Plumb account from Settings. Account deletion is designed to remove the account and associated user-owned Plumb data, subject to information that must be retained for legal or security reasons.

Your choices

You decide what financial information to enter into Plumb, whether to enable optional notifications, and whether to use Plumb Insights AI. You can sign out at any time, change supported preferences in Settings, revoke Plumb Insights AI permission from the Plumb Insights screen, and initiate account deletion from Settings.

Children

Plumb is not intended for people under 18, and Plumb does not knowingly collect personal information from people under 18.

Changes

This policy may be updated as Plumb changes. When material changes are made, the effective date will be updated and additional notice may be provided when appropriate. A material change to the Plumb Insights disclosure may require you to opt in again before another AI request is sent.
